Welcome to this magical blog filled with sassy remarks and wonderful adventures. Well, maybe not that wonderful. You’re either reading this because you enjoy my funny words, or you genuinely care about my trip. I hope it’s both! My adventure to Italy starts in less than two days, and I’m still stuck with my clothes strewn all over my room. As much as I want to follow the Pinterest guide to packing, it’s just not going to happen. There’s one online post saying: pack a week worth of clothes, and three pairs of shoes. HA. Knowing myself, I know that’s not possible. I have a mixture of seven shoes and about fifteen shirts. I’m not even going to remark on the amount of pants I have.
This post really isn’t about packing clothes or sitting on my suitcase to close it.
It’s about my goodbyes and see ya laters.
First, I said goodbye to my hair. I know not much of a goodbye, but after three years of growing it out, there was a little bit of sadness in this goodbye.
I also said goodbye to my car, Ole Betsy, aka Bets. Since I won’t be driving her for three months, I will be relying on the public transportation available in Italy. Maybe I’ll magically come back a better driver. Ha ha ha. I know that won’t happen, but there’s always a little bit of hope, right? I also had to say goodbye because she broke down for the fourth time this summer…but that wasn’t my fault.
Of course, I spent the weekend before my departure traveling over Texas to say goodbye to my closest friends and family. Traveling from Houston to Lufkin to College Station. There might have been a One Direction concert in that mix, but I won’t pain you in the details. Instead, I’ll tell you of my slumber party with my best friends and how we did what every group of college girls do. We had a Hannah Montana marathon and crashed at midnight. Thank goodness for Netflix, because apparently ‘Netflix can’t reach the part of the world’ in Italy.
I’m going to miss my friends and family so much. I know it’s cheesy, but I’m just sad about all the sleepovers and froyo runs with some of my favorite people in the entire world. But of course, I’ll see y’all later.
I’ll have this blog for all my adventures in Italy and any other quirky incidents that I stumble upon in Europe.
Be sure to keep up with my Facebook page, and if you need to reach me, that’s the place to reach me!
Until then, arrivederci!
Sincerely Yours,
Sadie
