I know you all of been at the edge of your seat for my next exciting post. So here it is.
I have done absolutely nothing.
This has been a PSA that I have done absolutely nothing for the past two weeks.
Well, I did go to Pisa, so I guess that counts for something. Oh, and I went to Florence. So maybe I did do a few things this past week.
I did start last week off with MUSICAL MONDAYS. My great friends and I watched Moulin Rouge where we laughed, cried and sang along to the sweet serenades of Ewan McGregor’s voice. We did this while in a spoon train. It was the best. Night. Ever. Just kidding, but it was still really great. CAN’T WAIT FOR MAMMA MIA.
Well, well, well….That’s another place I visited. I walked nearly 500 steps up and down a well in a quaint little town called Orvieto. I wish I could have enjoyed the town more, but I got a little rumbly in my tummily and sat viewing the grand Duomo in the town, which is quite famous for the Catholic church where a miracle happened.
Here is another void of nothingness, where I basically did nothing all week/weekend except drink some wine, watch Chicago, take four hour long naps, and enjoyed the company of my computer. That is how I chose to spend my weekend while I was in Italy. BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE.
I went to Pisa with some frands of mine and did what all tourists do…pushed over the leaning tower of Pisa. I woke up at four thirty in the morning, but it was well worth it! Yes, the tower really is crooked for the people who don’t think so. It leans wit it and rocks wit it. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have typed that, but it had to be done. We went to the beautiful Cathedral there and walked around the town, ate some pizza in Pisa, overall a great day trip for the books. I also took some vogue pics with my friends along a wall that is irrelevant to any tourist spot. It was just a cool wall.
Leading on to this past week, I still did absolutely nothing, except class. STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS. SCHOOL IS FUN. Well, here it is at least because I am still developing my wine label, and drawing in my handmade journal and experiencing developing film. I’m sure my favorite so far is the old developing film techniques. Mainly because I listen to my new jazz cd while doing the class, which makes me feel like I am literally going back into time.
Then, came Florence. I know what you’re thinking. ‘Ugh, Sadie went to Florence. AGAIN.’ But this time, we actually visited museums. We first started with the Uffizi gallery, where I finally got to see Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, which were breathtaking pieces of art, especially for the time. Apparently, it caused much uproar in the times, but now it was some of the most praised artwork! I still can’t believe my eyes for the beauty and techniques used by genius artists. Speaking of genius, we went to Museo de Galileo. AND OH MY GOODNESS. You could see Galileo’s genius throughout the museum. LITERALLY. HE WAS THERE. I don’t know what is with Italians and preserving bodies to showcase, but it’s kind of DISTURBING. Ok, not kind of. IT’S ABSOLUTELY DISTURBING. I don’t really like the idea of walking through and seeing old thumbs, fingers and teeth. I see what he did. All of his work. All of his inventions. That’s good enough for me. Besides that, I might have went to the leather market and might have bargained for a leather purse….hehehe. Thanks Mom! Thanks Dad! Can’t wait for the next leather purchase.
And now this is where it actually gets really boring. I turned into a 92 year old woman this weekend. Or maybe I turned 2? Either way I spent this whole weekend knitting watching Sailor Moon. I’ll do what I want, when I want here in Italy. My weekends are obviously thrilling. Well, I did watch Eat Love Pray because I needed to see my Franco somehow, but if I don’t come back home, I am searching for myself in Italy, India, Bali, or other beautiful parts of the world.
I’ll keep you updated on my beautifully, ugly scarf made from Italian yarn.
Tourist photos coming soon. Check back Thursday.
K. Bye now.
One more thing, I’ll try and socialize with more people this week so I can be funny for the next blog post. Because obviously I’m not funny enough. Or entertaining, except I do keep some people here amused which is quite shocking.
Maybe I’ll just ditch the whole college thing and become a stand up comedian.
Ta ta for now!
WAIT. WAIT JUST A MINUTE. WAIT. I ALMOST FORGOT SOMETHING. I HAD TACOS ON THURSDAY. I REPEAT. I HAD TACOS ON THURSDAY. I went out and the Italians threw a Taco Thursday night, and it was so great. I got my semi-mexican food fix that I needed. So now I can survive a few more weeks. Can someone greet me at the airport with green sauce?
AND I HAD CHINESE FOOD ON SATURDAY. I LOVE FOOD SO MUCH.
Ok. Goodbye for real now.
Sincerely yours,
Sadie
